Day 3: Peace Beyond Christmas
Welcome to Day 3 of the 10 Day Christmas Devotional. I’m grateful you’ve chosen to keep leaning in. As we continue walking through the Christmas story together, my hope is that these moments in Scripture help you slow down, notice details you may have overlooked before, and become more aware of God’s heart toward you today. When we pause long enough to truly reflect, the Lord often meets us in ways we didn’t expect, guiding our thoughts, stirring our affections, and realigning our focus.
Don’t think that God won’t speak powerfully to you in just a few short verses. If there is one key to your time with the Lord being personal, it is to make sure that you leave time for personal application. Many people will read the Bible and get a better understanding of the passage, but then close their Bible without remembering that the word of God is His living word and there are timeless truths that God wants to apply to your personal life today. Always leave time to ask the Lord what He wants you to see that applies to your life today.
Day 3
12And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.” 13And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, 14“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” Luke 2:12-14
FOCUSED THINKING
Who is the sign for?
What do the shepherds hear? see?
How do you think the shepherds felt in these moments?
PERSONAL APPLICATION
Ask the Lord, what do you want me to see in this passage about You or me that applies to my life today?
Ask the Lord, where is an area of my life where I may have taken for granted your goodness and not truly praised You?
