Day 2: Peace Beyond Christmas
Welcome to Day 2 of the 10 Day Christmas Devotional. I am so glad you are here! Whether you are currently attending the Peace Beyond Christmas series at One City Church right now or not, I hope this resource will give you a fresh and personal look at the scriptural account of the Christmas story.
There is nothing that helps put my heart, soul, mind and strength in alignment with my Heavenly Father’s best than spending time with the Lord each day. Allow this resource to help you see how to ask questions of the passage (Focused Thinking), ask the Lord why He has you in this passage today (Personal Application), process what He reveals (Interactive Prayer and Life Journaling) and see what happens!
Along the way, you may see me use the term “Priority Time” instead of devotional. There are some amazing devotionals that people have published that are a great tool, but don’t miss that the God of the universe wants to speak to you just as personally as the authors of the devotionals. As you consider the passage for today, remember to read it multiple times and give God time and space to direct you.
Day 2
8And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. Luke 2:8-11
