Day 10: Peace Beyond Christmas

We did it! Congratulations on making it to the end of this Christmas Priority Time plan. Today marks the final day and the culmination of our journey through the Christmas story. As we go through our final passage, take some time to pause and reflect on all that God has revealed over these past ten days. From the humble manger to the journeys of the shepherds, wise men, Mary and Joseph, we’ve walked alongside those who encountered Jesus firsthand, witnessing God’s faithfulness and His leading even in moments of uncertainty.

My hope for you today is that these 10 days have offered more than knowledge about the Christmas story. I pray they have stirred your heart, deepened your awareness of God’s presence, and shaped the way you approach your own Priority Time. As you move into 2026, I hope these lessons and reflections inspire you to consistently carve out moments to slow down, listen, and respond to God in your everyday life. More than simply reading the Bible, I hope this journey has helped you see that spending time with the Lord is about cultivating a personal relationship with the God of the universe, who wants to be near you, talk with you, and show you His love for you each day. I pray this experience has not only been a gift to you, but also transformed the way you see and celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. Merry Christmas!

DAY 10

12And being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they departed to their own country by another way. 13Now when they had departed, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you, for Herod is about to search for the child, to destroy him.” 14And he rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed to Egypt 15and remained there until the death of Herod. This was to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet, “Out of Egypt I called my son.” ' Matthew 2:12-15

FOCUSED THINKING

What causes the wisemen to depart another way?

Who appears to Joseph?

What is Joseph told to do?

How does Joseph respond?

PERSONAL APPLICATION

Lord, is there some area of my life that you are warning me right now?

What is the Lord revealing about Himself or you in this passage that you need to act on?

As you celebrate Christmas and think ahead, I encourage you to pick a book in the New Testament and grab a journal and pen and continue your own beautiful journey with the Lord. As you ask the journalistic questions of the passage (Focused Thinking), be sure to write down the questions and answers as well as your observations (Life Journaling). Once you have a good understanding of what the passage says, then begin to ask the Lord what He wants to show you (Interactive Prayer), and He will show you the Personal Application. If you will prioritize coming to Him each day, He will never fail to meet you there.
