Out of the Ditch
For the last few months, I’ve been working on a new 5-week series called Moving Beyond. The study was birthed through the reality that, like most of the women I know, I can get stuck. But God has no desire for us to be stuck. So, I decided I wanted to study those places in Scripture where God teaches us how to move beyond our struggles. Some of the places we get stuck are legitimate. The loss of a relationship or challenging circumstances are prime times when we can find our faith coming under attack. Fortunately, God knows our human emotions and the pains we experience. And He desires for us to turn to Him to help us move past these painful times. Unfortunately, the enemy loves to take any opportunity he can to attempt to knock us off the path and into the ditch. If the enemy doesn’t have a legitimate circumstance to work with, his second option is to feed into our weaknesses. Our fears, insecurities and indifferences are prime targets as the enemy tries to convince us that we can’t move forward.[bctt tweet="Can anything good really happen in 5 weeks?"]Sometimes we don’t even recognize we’re stuck. Day-to-day survival of our hectic pace can build layers of weariness that turn into callouses upon our hearts. Before we even realize it, we’re simply too tired to give our attention to our first love. We don’t mean to, but we become disconnected and eventually indifferent. If you’re anywhere near Memphis and have the ability to join me at our East Memphis campus for 5 Wednesdays, starting April 6th, I shamelessly urge you to come. Why? Not because I have any personal gain from more women coming, but because I fully expect God to show up and help us move beyond the places where we’ve been stuck. At one point, I asked the Lord, “Can anything really happen in 5 weeks?” As you contemplate the area where you’re stuck, maybe you think the same thing. Some of us have been stuck from the same failure or insecurity for just a few days or weeks, but some of us would acknowledge that this area has prevented legitimate growth for years. Then it occurred to me… God is in the business of restoring hearts. If we would truly give Him access to us in a focused way over these 5 weeks, there’s no limit to what the Lord can do. What do you have to lose? What freedom could you gain? It’s a very small investment to make with the potential for a God-sized return.[bctt tweet="God is in the business of restoring hearts."]Each week outside of our time together, you’ll spend time in passages where God uses His Word to show us how we can truly move beyond the road blocks, the heartaches, and the valleys of our lives and return to a place of forward progression.Within our time together on Wednesdays, you’ll have both a large group teaching time and a small group environment where you’ll be able to discuss what God’s Word has shown you to help you move beyond your struggle. If you want to journey with a group of women to learn from God’s Word how we can move beyond our struggles, please visit our website for more information and to register for either our women’s morning or evening option.
