Day 4: Peace Beyond Christmas

Thank you for joining us for Day 4! I hope this Christmas Devotional has been meaningful to you. Each day, we are intentionally taking just a few verses. This should allow for you to have time to ask good questions to understand the nuances of the text, but also to pray and personally apply the truth to your life. As the length of your Priority Time grows, you will naturally add more verses, but just be careful to prioritize the relationship and taking time to hear from the Lord over quantity of verses. Of course, you can always go back a few verses to review what happened previously before narrowing in on today’s passage. Context is always important.

Day 4

15When the angels went away from them into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go over to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.” 16And they went with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby lying in a manger. 17And when they saw it, they made known the saying that had been told them concerning this child. 18And all who heard it wondered at what the shepherds told them.  Luke 2:15-18

FOCUSED THINKING

What do we learn about the angels?

What happened when the angels “went away from them into heaven”?

How was the action of the shepherds described?

How did those who heard the shepherd account respond?

PERSONAL APPLICATION

Ask the Lord, what do you want me to see in this passage about You or me that applies to my life today?

Lord, is there somewhere I need to go with haste?

Lord, is there someone waiting on my invitation or testimony to wonder or marvel about You?
