Day 7: Peace Beyond Christmas
Welcome to Day 7! A full week into our 10 Day Christmas Priority Time Plan!
Christmas is a busy season, but let’s be honest, almost every season is busy. One of the ways to protect your time with the Lord is to put it as the very first thing in your day. If you have heard me teach, you have heard me say that our hearts are designed to attach. The question is not, “Will my heart attach to something?” The question is, “What will my heart attach to God or a lesser thing?” When we give God the first portion of our day it allows our hearts to attach to His heart and see the day through His perspective. God will joyfully be ready for you anytime, but I encourage you to maximize His leadership in your life by starting your day with Him. We call this time a priority time because it is the one priority that will determine all other priorities.
DAY 7
3 When Herod the king heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him; 4and assembling all the chief priests and scribes of the people, he inquired of them where the Christ was to be born. 5They told him, “In Bethlehem of Judea, for so it is written by the prophet: 6“‘And you, O Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for from you shall come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’” Matthew 2:3-6
FOCUSED THINKING
Who does Herod gather?
What question does he ask?
What written word do the chief priests and scribes refer to?
PERSONAL APPLICATION
Lord, you are my shepherd. Where do you want to lead me to that I have resisted going? Where are you trying to guide me away from as a form of protection that I have resisted?
Lord, how have I allowed the Herod’s of the world to impact my devotion to you?
